Reiki is a form of therapy that uses simple hands-on, and visualization techniques, with th goal of improving the flow of life energy in a person. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means "universal life energy" in Japanese, and Reikipractitioners are trained to detect and alleviate problems of energy flow on thephysical, emotional, and spiritual level. Reiki touch therapy is used in much the same way to achieve similar effects that traditional massage therapy is used-torelieve stress and pain, and to improve the symptoms of various health conditions.
Reiki was developed in the mid-1800s by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese scholar of religion. Reiki generally has no side effects, as it is a very low impact and gently procedure. Some receivers report tingling or sensations of heat or cold during treatment. Others have sadness or anxiety during treatment, which practitioners claim are buried or repressed emotions being released by the new energy flow.
In Second and Master level of Reiki you will have access to the Special Sacred Reiki Symbols and words. These are handed down from Master to Master and are used for attuning other initiates into your Reiki Linage. But more importantly they can be used for healing and protection.
Reiki Symbols are means of focusing your attention in order to connect with "specific" healing frequencies.

This is the Distant Healing Symbol and it is used to send Reiki over distance and time (past,present, future), to anyone and anything. It is also drawn when sending a distant attunement.
